Desert Child

Desert Child Muscle Dress || Highway Hippie Company
Buffalo Plaid Poncho || Target
Floppy Hat || Zaful
Tomorrow is Friday!! I'm so ready for a great weekend full of candy. I wanted to share with y'all a new boutique, Highway Hippie Company, an Instagram and Facebook boutique. They have some super trendy pieces for great prices. This is just the beginning of our friendship.
This is a great dress for those still warm Fall days we are having here in Texas. You can layer it with your favorite poncho or scarf. I didn't want to cover up those gorgeous graphics of this sweet dress, but you could easily jazz it right up with layers and layers of great vintage turquoise. You can never have enough! I also paired my favorite fringe booties with it, sorry my legs are vampire white so I had to crop those bad boys out for sure!
Be on the look out in the weeks to come here at Western Homestead for more from Highway Hippie Company and be sure to give them a like on their Facebook and Instagram pages! We will have a exclusive sneak peak of what they have to offer for the Christmas season just around the corner. So be sure to keep track so you can check that fashionista off your list or even make your very own Christmas Wish List!

Trick or Treat

Trick or Treat

Great Wednesday  morning!! What a beautiful morning it is! Sorry I missed y'all yesterday. It might be a double post Wednesday, as The Rollin' J just posted some great new arrivals that I want to share with y'all.

This is a really hot look for Trick or Treating this weekend for the Monmas! Plaid is still ruling the runways this fall. This coat is absolutely beautiful. A great pea coat is always a must for winter. Layered underneath is a beautiful white collared shirt. I have a great one I got from Nordstrom during their Anniversary Sale this July. Grab your favorite fringed boots and skinnies and floppy hat to top the look off. *** NEWS FLASH *** I went to Target yesterday and they have a great collection of different colors of fedoras and floppy fall hats!! Get there ASAP!!

I hope y'all have a great day!!

Trick or Treat Inspiration #2

Trick or Treat Inspiration 2

Happy Monday!! It's Halloween week and it's time to look good! While I was putting this look together yesterday I was inspired to take items that are already in my closet and recreate them for y'all later on this week. Some of these items are completely out of my price range, but that does not mean that I can't have the next best thing! That is the beauty of fashion now a days. The trickle effect throughout the fashion word is much quicker than in the past.

Today I'm bringing you a super cute laid back party look. Starting of with a great and might I add timeless striped long sleeve tee. These are so versatile, and if you haven't noticed that's kinda my jam! Being Momma I'd much rather spend money on the kiddo's clothes. I thrive on mixing my items and never wearing the same exact look twice. Fall is for layers and boy do I love layers!! A very hot item this season is a military style vest. These also are very versatile. These two items should be staple in any girl's wardrobe. Boyfriend jeans are not only cute, but they are comfy!! Also I promise a tutorial to making your very own distressed boyfriend jeans! I'm all about saving some green and still looking good! Let's face it we live in Texas, and some days it's still 89 degrees. So the first part of my body that gets hot and stays hot are my feet. I will always choose sandals over closed toe shoes. These shoes are sparkley and gorgeous!! Polish your toes off with a great dark shade and lips in a gorgeous plum and you're ready to storm the party room.

What are some of your favorite fall shades in the beauty department?

Fall Inspiration

Happy Sunday y'all! I hope y'all are savoring your last day of the weekend. It's sure to be a fun week full of Halloween celebrations. It seems this time of year comes and goes so quickly when it's full of pumpkin patch visits and classroom parties. Homeroom mommas those cookies don't have to be the only talk of the party; let the other Mom's notice how cute you are! This week I have decided to bring you some outfit inspiration for all your Halloween festivities.

It's finally cooling off here in Texas, that took long enough! It seems we only have a two weeks span of nice enjoyable weather, then it turns into full blown winter of howling winds on top of this hill we live on. I always try to soak in everyday of wearing a great cardigan and not freezing my butt off! I'm so excited to share some of the outfits I've conjured up. Some of which you probably have these items already in your closet, and if you don't you totally should add them and quick. These are good quality and very versatile items you can wear throughout the seasons.

A great denim or chambray shirt is always a win! They create a classy yet comfortable look. You can always dress these right up with a great squash blossom or gorgeous baubles. They are also great for layering on your favorite scarves and cardiagans throughout Fall. You can spend as little or as much on one and get tons of wear out of them! I bought one last Fall at Old Navy and wore it so much! They're a great price there too.

Black skinnies are another very versatile item to add to your wardrobe if you haven't yet. I scored my favorite pair at Target about a month ago. I wear these things at least twice a week. They are great for band tees such as my awesome TSwift tee or even for church with a dressy tunic. I love black skinnies with a chambray shirt. This is another item you can spend as little or as much as you want on. I'm a bargain shopper {Momma} so I'm always up for a Target buy on any given day!

I personally am a bootie enthusiast. I have yet to find me a pair of wine booties but they are so on my Christmas list! This a great way for a pop of color in an outfit. They look great with a black tshirt dress or skinnies.

What does your week of festivities look like? Let's make it a great one of cute sweet treats and even cuter outfits!

Momma Party Getup

Momma Party Getup

Happy Saturday y'all!! I hope y'all are having a great weekend. This week has been full of birthday celebrations for our Pecos Jane. She turned three years old yesterday! It's killing me that she's getting so big so fast!

I wanted to share this super cute laid back look for her party this afternoon. I always seems to let my look backslide when it comes to birthday parties for the kids. This year I vetoed another home birthday party full of stress and clean up for the two weeks. They are just way too hard to put together and recover from me. Thankfully we decided on an awesome bounce house joint and I contracted out the cake and goodies! I have throughly enjoyed birthday snuggles all day yesterday with my girl. It was a little more pricey than usual, but to me you cannot put a price on snuggles and sweet memories with the babes.

I found this great olive tunic at my favorite The Rollin J. I'm pairing it with my favorite distressed skinnies and fringed booties. I still am suffering from some hot roots { I need to get back into the hair shop } so I've been loving me hats and headbands. If you follow me on social media in sure you have spotted me with my new favorite of plum lips and dark eye shadows. These are great colors to welcome to Fall weather that is finally hitting here in Texas.

What are some of your favorite go to fashions as a Momma? What's your current lip color that you're obsessed with?

Taos Ray's Christmas List Part 1

Hello everybody!! I've missed y'all like crazy, and it's time I get myself back to work! I've had a flood of emails and messages concerning where I find my Taos Ray's clothing. I'm very proud in saying that I have already started my Christmas shopping. I'm sure some of you are already done, but I'm a mega procrastinator so I'm doing good for me!

From the moment I found out I was having a boy I knew he just couldn't wear the normal bears and baseball clothes. I'm not saying that there is anything at all wrong with these clothes. They're absolutely adorable, but if you know me I thrive on originality, hence my children's names. I will say I'm so thankful for Instagram who introduced me to the Etsy world of little boy fashion!  Each week I would lust after one Aztec baby item after another! I know these items can get a bit pricey. I always seem to find a way to squeeze them in the budget, even if that means Momma goes without new clothes. I would rather spend money on my kiddos then myself any day! It's kinda an obsession for me.

These are the best days to me of the complete and utter joy each day the kiddos bring to me. Taos and Pecos seems to be learning something new everyday to entertain their Momma fan Daddy with. I wish like heck that I could freeze time to soak up every last drop of these days.

A few weeks ago I stumbled upon Lola and Stella. They have an Etsy shop full of the cutest boy and girl fashion. They have everything from headbands to precious cotton leggings. Taos Ray being a cute little cowbaby he just had to have the southwestern style leggings and hoodies. These leggings go great with cheeky graphic tee and white tees. Not to mention they are super soft and comfortable for him to wear.

So if you're looking for something a little out of the norm for the kiddos this Christmas I strongly suggest cruising Etsy for the perfect fit.

What are some of your favorite Etsy shops?
